Black Unity Day, sponsored by the Black Caucus, promoted unity within the Black community and projected a new image for the Black Caucus.

“The University will not give us a damn thing unless we get together collectively and go to them with our demands and requests,” said Black Caucus President Leonard Howard.

The event was held at the Paul Robeson Cultural Center and featured speakers, musicians, poets, and dances led by the sisters of Alpha Kappa Alpha.
